LONGDOWN ACTIVITY FARM EVENTS 2018

We do not charge any extra on top of our usual admissions for our events (unless specified for certain activities on the individual event details), and any free tickets, vouchers or special offers can be redeemed as usual (unless specified on the individual event details).

Regardless of the event, our usual full day’s schedule of hands-on activities will carry on alongside*.

Make a note of all our events in your diaries and come along and join in the fun! See you soon.

NEW FOREST SHOW

Tuesday 24th July, Wednesday 25th July & Thursday 26th July

Some of the animals will be packing their bags and heading off to Brockenhurst for the annual New Forest Show. Come and see us in our tent where there will be lots of different farm animals to see, touch and feed, as well as the rest of the Show to enjoy too, of course!

Please note that Longdown Activity Farm will remain open on these dates, with a full schedule of hands-on activities, as normal.

SWEEP THE SHEEPDOG DEMO'S

Saturday 28th July, Wednesday 8th August (tbc), and Saturday 25th August.

You’ll be swept away with Sweep the Sheepdog’s clever display. With the help of his owner Terena, Sweep will be demonstrating his incredible herding skills on friendly geese Yogi, Gaylan, Shipley and Rosie.

Demonstrations will take place at intervals throughout the day. There will be plenty of opportunity to speak to Terena and stroke Sweep.

Our usual schedule of hands-on farming activities will run throughout the day.

THE CREATURE TEACHERS

Wednesday 1st August & Thursday 30th August

The fabulous Creature Teachers are at the Farm with their menagerie of amazing animals. Hold a barn owl, and meet millipedes, rats, giant snails, lizards, snakes, and many other fascinating creatures too. Touch, hold, and learn about these fantastic creatures during close-up encounter sessions scheduled from 11:30am to 3:30pm.

Our usual schedule of hands-on farming activities will run throughout the day.

IT'S...CRAZY M!

Friday 3rd August, Wednesday 15th August and Wednesday 22nd August.

There’ll be lots of crazy capers and wacky fun with Crazy M who will be joining us at Longdown Farm in the summer holidays from 11:00 to 3:30pm.
There will be 2 brilliant laugh-out-loud shows per day suitable for 0 – 99 year olds – one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Also, WATCH OUT, Crazy M will be popping up all around the farm with a trick or two up her sleeve and some brilliant bendy balloon animals.

DANCE WITH DEORFRITH MORRIS

Saturday 11th August

Traditional Morris dancing by Deorfrith Morris. Live music and dancing – watch and join in!

Dancing will take place at intervals after 12 midday.

Our usual schedule of hands-on farming activities will run throughout the day.

IT'S FRIGHTFULLY FUN AT THE FARM

Monday 22nd October to Sunday 28th October

There’s a whole week of spooky stuff to see and do on the run up to Hallowe’en. From Monday 22nd October have a go at carving your own pumpkin into a grimacing ghoul (extra charge), and create a monster masterpiece with our other blood-curdling crafts. Katie, our brilliant face-painter, can transform the most angelic child into a devilish demon (extra charge for face-painting).

Any children that arrive in spooky fancy dress from Monday 22nd October to Sunday 28th October will be given entry at the reduced cost of £5.00 each. Please note that children’s concessionary tickets cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer and must be bought on the day at admissions as they are not available online.

On Sunday 28th October (only) meet lots of creeeepy creatures like giant millipedes, snakes and lizards, and hold a barn owl, courtesy of The Creature Teachers.

LONGDOWN FARM CHRISTMAS BARN

Saturday 1st December up to and including Sunday 23rd December.

Father Christmas will be returning on his tractor sleigh once again to the Longdown Barn to take up residence in the farmhouse grotto.

See twinkling lights, lots of animals, and the Nativity scene during this festive annual treat.
